Dear Alan,

I returned yesterday from the 11th Annual INLAC World Quality Forum in Ixtapa Mexico.

A very encouraging meeting with good plenary, seminars and workshops.
Over 600 delegates were there and of the speakers some 20 speakers/workshop leaders were ISO TC 176 experts.

Your video message shown in plenary and was greatly appreciated and I received on your behalf a plaque commemorating the 60 years of ISO stating:
"in recognition of its (ISO) important work in unifying nations and continents by means of standardization" (translation from Spanish).
This plaque needs to be moved to Geneva in due course.

A plaque was also given to TC176 on the 20th Anniversary of ISO 9000 standards. I shall take this to Qatar to include as part of the special ceremony there in early 2008 at the next TC176 plenary.

We thank Armando Espinosa and INLAC for these special tokens of recognition and for all they are doing to promote quality and standardization in Latin America.

I have just got back home after my stay in Venezuela and I like to thank you all for inviting me to your “Foro mundial” in Ixtapa.
As usual it was a very well organized and successful entertainment and I hope you have got nice feedback from the participants.
This annual event must be one of the most important in Latin America in its field and I am very proud to have had the opportunity to participate.

Please convey my thanks also to Armando and tell him he is very welcome and I look forward to see him in Gothenburg next month.
